Service Disruptions: 5/8/2008

Beginning at approximately 9:00PM EDT, DCANet customers experienced intermittent outages of network connectivity and DNS services. This outage was related to the emergency maintenance that was performed at 8:00PM EDT. Unexpected events related to the maintenance increased the severity and length of the outage.

Update: As of approximately 11:30PM EDT all services have been restored. DCANet engineers continue to monitor the situation, and updates will be posted as they become available.

Update:
DCANet is continuing to work on a problem with a core router that has been causing short intermittant interuptions of service.

As of approx. 6am, DCANet Engineers believe that they have stablized this equipment; however, they are still working on a final resolution to the problem.

There exists the possibility that there may be some intermittant problems during the day today.
DCANet is hoping that that will not be the case, but the possibility does exist, and we wanted to make this clear to our user base.

We will be posting updates throughout the morning and day on our network status page. Our morning staff will be on site at the help desk shortly, and they will available
to answer questions.
