Outlook Express Setup
Setup For New Email Accounts
(1) Click on "Tools" and then "accounts"
(2) Click on the "Mail" tab, then click "add," then "mail" to  add a new account
(3) Follow the wizard.
(4) Type the your first and last name. Hit "next"
(5) Click on "I already have an email address that I'd like to use."
     Type in your email address. Hit "next"
(6) For your incoming(POP3) mail server type in your specified mail server.
     - DCANet users use postoffice.dca.net
     - DCANet Shell Account Users use universal.dca.net
     - UPenn, Temple & Drexel students and faculty should email
     help@dca.net for assistance in finding your incoming
     mail server.
(7) In the Outgoing Mail Server box, type in "smtp-relay.dca.net." If you
     are connected to the internet through a provider other than DCANet,
     use the incumbent outgoing mail server. If you do not know your 
     outgoing mail server, please email help@dca.net for assistance. 
(8) Click "next"
(9) Type in your account name. The User Name is the part of your email address
     before the '@' sign. Type it in. Please be aware that all usernames, passwords,
     server names and email addresses are case sensitive. Typing in your password is
     optional.
Click "next" and then click "finish"

Modification of Current Accounts
(1) Click on "Tools" and then "accounts"
(2) Click on the "Mail" tab, highlight the mail server that you wish to modify
(3) Click on "Properties"
(4) Under the "General" tab, fill in the information
(5) Click on the "Servers" tab

  • In the Incoming mail(POP3) Box 
    - DCANet users use postoffice.dca.net
    - DCANet Shell Account Users use universal.dca.net
    - UPenn, Temple & Drexel students and faculty should email
       help@dca.net for assistance in finding your incoming

(6) Your outgoing mail server should be "smtp-relay.dca.net"
(7) Type in your username and (optional) password.
(8) Click "Apply" then click "OK"
(9) Click "Close"
